Today is that special day to appreciate and honor our Mom’s for everything she does for us. If I tried to list off every way my Mom selflessly pours into my life- it would take up the entire WordPress blog capability for data. But, the one thing I am most thankful for today is for my Mom imparting belief, integrity and Faith into me through scripture & prayer. Of course, as a child- we do not fully understand the power that a Praying Mama has over our life. As an adult, I look back and see many examples of how her prayer kept me safe and protected. In the midst of my poor choices and my back turned away from God, I now know that He kept His Hand of Protection over me because of her.
My Mom has been the Spiritual Superhero of our family! She is always ready to leap tall problems with a single prayer or rejoice in our victories like the world’s greatest cheerleader. She listens intently to my sister and I, without judgement, when we just need to vent. Her phone is always on and she is never too busy when her family is in need. I cannot think of a time when she wasn’t there for us and my sis and I can be a handful- sort of like the oversized Sonic cups in the photo below… Just sayin’.

I’m so grateful for the example she set. She always woke up at least an hour before us to arm herself for the day with Bible reading and coffee. So, she was able to help us start our day in a place of peace as well. There was never that chaotic, loud morning rush in our house and I so appreciate her instilling that in my sister and I. We both have a diligent morning prayer/meditation/reading/journaling practice which I now teach to women around the world. If you have transformed the way you start your day because of my guidance- you can thank my Mama!
It’s not ironic that her name is Rochelle which means “little rock” in French, but she’s is lovingly referred to as ROCKI. She’s a true Fighter and Superhero. Despite her difficult childhood, she always did her best to ensure we had a different experience. We always had what we needed and felt cherished & loved. She also taught us girls that we could be or do anything we dreamed of! I really don’t know how she worked a full-time job, took care of a household (without a housekeeper) and always had the time to be present with us….
SUPERHERO.
Now that I’m married, I’m blessed with 2 Spiritual Superhero Mom’s. My Mother-In-Law is also the rock of her family and although she is on the other side of the world in Australia- we feel the effects of her prayers in our life. Her name is RUTH, which is also the name of one of my favorite women in the Bible. Ruth’s name means “friend of God”… so appropriate. Our generation, our family- is truly blessed because of our 2 praying Matriarch’s.
