Swimsuit season is officially here! Did anyone cringe having to get into a swimsuit for the 4th? Well, we can stay covered up in our sarong OR we can get our butts outside for a run/powerwalk OR to the gym OR do a workout video from the comfort of our living room. I love my sarongs and will always wear them because it’s classier to cover up a bit then to let it all hang out. But, with that being said– I believe we should set the necessary fitness goals so we can walk around the pool confidently, no matter what.
A few days ago, I tried a new workout spot called Pop Physique. (Thanks Julianna. I can barely walk today!) It’s very similar to Bar Method and Pure Barre. They have locations throughout Cali and are opening new locations all over the US. I had to share it with you because these moves will tighten and tone those jiggly areas super fast giving you more confidence to drop that sarong sista. If you want that long, lean look instead of bulky muscles, this workout is for you! I had to get up the nerve to go into the full hour class so I tried this 10 minute video at home a few times first. Check it out and get ready to feel the burn…
Here’s a few other effective workout videos I like. This arm workout by Tracy Anderson is unlike anything I have EVER done before. It looks easy, but whoa mama- the burn starts immediately!
I love these Tone It Up girls! Their videos are fun and you feel like you’ve escaped to the beach. This ab workout is fantastic!

“Never say you CAN’T, until you try. Transforming myself has been one of the most difficult things that I have ever had to do. I have lived with a leg injury since 2005 because I was given the wrong surgery and I have never been fixed. Since my first survival story made newspapers and radio back in 1999, my husband was my strength and he helped helping me through my physical challenges. Then December 28th of 2010, my husband was diagnosed with stage 3 gallbladder cancer. I had to now be his strength through his physical journey although I was still injured.
I had no clue where or how to start rehabilitating and transforming myself, until I saw an SOS post by the amazing Tiffany Hendra and Natalie Bolton with the 7 steps workout in the Spring of 2011. This was my new challenge and goal to become stronger, not only for myself, but for those around me that needed my help! I can honestly say that SOS saved my life because of the 7 steps webisode.It doesn’t matter how big or small you are or if you can walk or if you can’t for I am living proof that anything is possible. If I can say anything to you, it would be, MIND OVER MATTER and let your passion guide you!

EAT MORE KALE- I have had a few Wonder Women Girlfriends (meaning they have superhuman energy) tell me they drank kale smoothies…Hmm, I just add super green powder to mine and thought that was good enoughg. I was curious and googled the benefits of raw kale then went to Whole Foods and bought a bunch! It’s always better to use a whole food so I’ll save the super greens for when I’m out of the real deal! You know I LOVE talking about clothes, shoes, accessories and all that jazz, but what we have on UNDERNEATH our fabulous outfit is just as important. The undergarment business is huge with more selection than ever!
In order for your tops to fit their best, you must wear the appropriate bra!
For that beautiful dress to flow just right on your hips and accent the silhouette, you should wear Spanx or some sort of Shapewear.
For low-slung jeans, you should wear panties that lay flat on your skin and have a lower rise in the crotch.
For the sundress that you can’t wear a bra with, you have a few options for self-adhesive covers.
Our bodies, our boobies and our booties come in all shapes and sizes so find what works best for you! I’m giving you a rundown of my fav’s and what works for me. We’ve all packed too much into our days, but it’s vital you put yourself first when it comes to your health, wellness and fitness. I found if I write my workout in my calendar just as I would an important meeting, then I am more likely to get it done! For the times you can’t make it to your fav pilates, yoga or spin class…my sis, Natalie gives us 7 EASY BUT EFFECTIVE EXERCISES that we can do in the privacy of our own living room in the comfort of our PJ’s.
Forearm Plank with Hip Dip- Core
Forearm Plank with Knee To Elbow- Oblique/Core
Standing Knee To Elbow- Oblique
Overhead Pilates Sit Up- Total Core
Seated Half Pigeon- Glutes
Lunges with Butt Squeeze- Legs/ Glutes
Plie Sqats- Total Leg & Glutes
It’s great to incorporate these core, glute and leg exercises in addition to your current workout routine!
They only take 15-20 minutes..hey, we can spend that much time browsing Facebook or watching mindless Reality TV (yes, I’m including myself in that statement)…
