SOS Went LIVE On YouTube: FALL 2017 TOPS

Hello Loves!

Have you seen the LIVE videos YouTubers are doing? I thought I would try something new and give it a shot. This is a great way to continue giving you beauty + style tips from the Sanctuary without the tedious camera/lights set up and hours of editing. We will still continuing to do fun, produced videos– but, I plan to work a LIVE video into my schedule weekly as well.

This first LIVE video was on the fly and a bit all over the place, but it’s real and raw.  I’m loving everything this season and show you a few hot tops for Fall. I’m figuring out how to actually put on some of the outfits so you can see the fit. Perhaps wear a black tank or shell and try things on over it?

Let me know what you think! Everyone on YT commenting that they really enjoyed it.

What would you like to see next?

Want to see more videos like this?

Love to hear your feedback.

HELLO SEPTEMBER: Bring On The Confidence & Walk Tall

SOS_Downtown_FB

Join me in welcoming September! (clap clap)

Let’s focus on our spirit today…

Many of you have made it through the first week of school getting the kids back on a sleeping schedule and finding your own new groove. CONGRATS!  The transition to Fall is always a bit wonky which can take a toll on our confidence. The lazy days of Summer are over and it’s time to get focused. You spent so much time on your family and making sure their Summer was memorable and now it’s time to nurture yourself a bit.

What activities do you want to participate in? You’ve filled up your kids after school schedules, but what about YOU?

Do you want to try a new workout program? Start a side business? Join a book club? Take an online class?

My job here at SOS is to…

nudge you,

broaden your scope,

instigate change,

get you to step out of your comfort zone…

all of which will build your confidence.

Are you the type who thinks and talks about doing something, but you never get around to it? This actually wreaks havoc on your confidence! Do you notice that sense of disappointment in yourself when you shrink back or are just plain lazy?  I challenge you TODAY — on the first of the month to step into the new season with new habits.

Here are 3 ways to bring on the confidence:

1)RECALL A TIME YOU WERE CONFIDENT & POWERFUL: Remember that time you nailed that important business presentation or told a great joke during a speech that had the room in stitches or threw a perfect dinner party from the appetizer all the way to the after dinner coffee? Recalling these moments when you were proud of yourself actually triggers you to feel that feeling of confidence again. Often, we tend to focus on our shortcomings and losses instead of our wins. Every once in a while, I take a look over my resume and credentials to remind myself that I’m not doing so bad.

ACTION STEP: Make it a regular habit of taking time to focus on your accomplishments.

2)TRY SOMETHING NEW (even if it scares you): We are creatures of habit and my intention with this post today is to encourage a change in the bad habits that are holding you back. I set a goal for 2014 to book a minimum of three speaking engagements. Recently, I hit my goal. Woop! I didn’t tell anyone about the first two. They were at smaller venues and I considered it practice and no one would know if I completely bombed. I’ve spoken many times in public, but it still makes me a ball of nerves. It’s something I want to get better at. I have the ability to talk into the camera all day long with no problem. That’s where I feel “at home”. Recently, I spoke at a bigger event and thought I was going to puke. I didn’t. Stepping out of my comfort zone and doing something that scared me strengthened my confidence in a major way.

ACTION STEP: Set the goal. What is that thing you’ve wanted to do even if it terrified you? Build your confidence by setting the goal and completing it.

3)WALK TALL: If you’ve been part of SOS for the past year or so, you’ve seen me say this in many videos and on the blog. Why did I start this? I began noticing my own terrible posture when I was out and about in public. On those days I felt “schleppy”, my shoulders would round forward and my eyeline was toward the ground. As I looked around, many women were doing the same thing. Their energy was “stand offish” instead of magnetic. So was mine! What the heck? It broke my heart to see so many women with such low self-confidence. I had to have a chat with myself as well. Sometimes it’s good to take yourself to the mirror and talk to yourself as if you were your BFF. We encourage our friends all the time and I want you to do that for yourself today. Being the researcher I am, I found this to be scientifically backed in a study by Scientific America.

ACTION STEP: Focus on your posture. Stand tall, core tight, eyeline forward and shoulders back. Standing tall actually signals the body and mind to feel more powerful.

Like my Grandma always said, “it’s time to S*@! or get off the pot”!  Don’t you just love Southern sayings? The new season is the perfect time to try some new things.

What will you step out and walk tall doing?

Please share this post with any friends who need the nudge. Perhaps, do this with a friend and create some accountability.

If you need more in-depth assistance, I have limited space for new private clients in September. Receive a complimentary 15 minute consultation via Skype to discuss your options. Serious inquiries only. Contact me here.

WALK TALL SISTAS.

Love, Tiff

5 Fall Styles You Can Wear NOW!

Happy Last Weekend of August,

We are all so ready to put away the flip flops, maxi sundresses and shorts, but Mother Nature is not cooperating here in the South. All of the September mags are taunting us with rich colors, suedes and faux fur, but I’m sweating just thinking about putting on a shearling coat right now! The temps are still fluctuating in the 90’s here in Texas, but we can begin to incorporate a few of the hottest Fall styles into our wardrobe while still keeping comfy and cool.

Here is what I’m pulling out of my closet NOW:

FRINGE_fall_winter_2015_2016_handbag_trends_fringed_handbags

1) FRINGE HANDBAG:

Can I just tell you how happy I am that fringe is still holding strong? I’ve been wearing a fringe bag all of 2015 so if you haven’t tried the trend yet- this Fall is the time to do it! As the temps drop, rock a fringe jacket, but not at the same time as the bag. TIFF’S TIP: One fringe item at a time please! You don’t want to look like a bad country singer.

70s_skirt_trend

2) 70’s SKIRT:

I’ve always loved the snap up 70’s skirt and had one years ago. Dang it, I wish I still had that skirt!  From a denim midi skirt to a suede mini, this is the IT skirt for Fall 2015. TIFF’S TIP: Add a modern blouse or blazer (instead of doing head-to-toe 70’s) to keep from looking like you just walked out of a thrift store.

White-frilly_blouse

3) AMPLIFIED WHITE BLOUSE:

The white blouse is a wardrobe staple and I better find a great one if each of your closets! Ya hear. But, this Fall it’s all about the romantic girlie vibe when it comes to any type of blouse especially a white blouse. Try one with ruffles, statement sleeves, embroidery or oversized collars. I love this frilly one from Zara! TIFF’S TIP: Go for more modern frill instead of oversized ruffles to keep from looking like Capt Jack Sparrow.

Suede-Leather-Ankle-Boots

4) SUEDE BOOTIE:

You know I am obsessed with booties! I am also obsessed with suede so I am stoked for it to explode this Fall on everything from boots, booties, handbags, skirts and jackets. To keep your legs cool while it’s still warm out, grab a fab pair of suede booties then switch to knee high or over-the-knee when it gets cold.  TIFF’S TIP: Don’t forget to spray your new suede items with a suede protector. I have forgotten this in the past and ruined some amazing suede shoes! BooHoo.

IMG_8343

5) FLARES:

This is my absolute favorite pant this year. Flared jeans and slacks lengthen the leg and allow your calves to breathe. My favorites are by J. Brand because the denim holds you in like spanx and are so flattering. (I get compliments every single time I wear mine!) TIFF’S TIP: I cannot stress enough the importance of the length when you wear flares. If they are too short..well, JUST DON’T DO IT! This cheapens the look and will actually shorten your legs.

Remember to shop your closet before making unnecessary purchases. Which of the 5 will you start wearing NOW?

I’ll be back with a longer list of my Fall favorites via video! I’ve been doing my “research” and have comprised a great list.

Blessings for a Spectacular September!

Take some time to set your intentions for the month and take it a step further and visualize how you want the remainder of 2015 to play out. Staying stylish is important to feel confident and put your best image out into the world, but you MUST start with your spirit first. Our outer world reflects our inner world!

SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS, SISTA!

Love, Tiff
