BRONZE YOUR BEAUTIFUL BODY! [New Video]

Hey Love Bug,

It’s time to complete the beachy bronzed look we started last week. Did you try any of my tips for bronzing your face?  This week, I show you how I achieve an at home spray tan and camouflage the imperfections on my legs!

BRONZE GLOW is a multi-functional makeup blend formulated to create the most flawless and glowing complexion. It compliments all skin tones, easy to use and won’t clog pores.  Bronze Glow is not a sunless tanning spray but rather an HD makeup enhancer and can be used on the Face and Body to achieve a rich warm glow.  *It is supposed to fade evenly after 3-4 days, but actually stayed longer on me!

SUNGLO FACE & BODY BRONZER has a subtle touch of gold shimmer for a beautiful sun-kissed glow. It’s smooth and silky on your skin, evens out skin tone, blurring imperfections and covering tan lines, while giving you a youthful “tropical vacation” glow. Good for all skin types, This bronzer is best on fair to medium-dark skin tones. Fortified with natural oils and flower extracts such as chamomilla, calendula, tea tree and aloe extracts.

Many are asking already where I got this cute gingham dress, Nordstrom Rack y’all! The choker too. The bracelets are a combo stack of ronniemjewelry.com and taylorshayedesigns.com . Wedge sandals are Steve Madden from Nord’s!  Yes, they are high, but so so so comfy.

May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month so it’s the perfect time to answer one of the questions I am asked most often. How do you get that bronzy glow? I love a healthy tan, but it’s just not safe to bake in the sun these days like we used to with the baby oil or Hawaiian Tropic oil.  I’m sure we’re paying for it with the discoloration battle and premature aging. UGH! It’s totally possible to protect your skin all while looking like you spent a week on some beautiful tropical beach.   There are so many effective self-tanners (video topic coming next week) and bronzers on the market today so it’s easier than ever to keep that healthy glow.

I don’t normally do makeup tutorials, but here’s my best attempt:

  • The IT Cosmetics CC Cream can be found at Ulta.
  • Get the Heroes Beauty Bronzer HERE.
  • The ISH palette HERE.
  • E.L.F. products found at Target, CVS, Walmart, etc.

If you’re hitting the beach, lake or pool this Memorial weekend, here are a few more ways to protect your skin:

1// Use SPF 30+  and apply 20-30 minutes before sun exposure. Make sure to get your ears, hands + feet!

2// Wear a tightly woven hat and avoid those cute loosely woven straw hats.

3// Cover up. Cool, dark colored shirts and wraps absorb ultraviolet rays more.

4// Wear SPF 30+ lip balm.

#FF WEBISODE: 7 Summer Drugstore Steals

Happy Friday Gorgeous!

Believe it or not, I actually have to go back to my own webisodes and tips to remember some of the products I like. That is exactly what happened today!  It has been 100 degrees every day this week and my beauty regimen needs some help. I watched my webisode from last summer and then took a quick trip to Target. Thought you ladies may need a refresher as well:

Product List:

  • Palmer’s Coconut Oil Deep Conditioner, $1.47 Target
  • Treseme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo, $4.99 Walgreens
  • Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Miracle Dry Oil Spray, $6.29 CVS
  • Tree Hut Olive & Shea Hawaiian Kukui Sugar Scrub, $7.99 Target
  • Dry Brush with long back handle, $4.49 Target
  • Jergens Natural Glow Gradual Tan Moisturizer, $11.99 Target
  • Banana Boat Sport SPF Sunscreen, $6.94 Wal Mart
  • Sonia Kashuk Yellow Alluriana Fragrance, $19.99 Target

Please remember to hydrate, hydrate and hydrate some more during the hot months. With that vacay or two and extra time off during summer, please remember that coffee, tea and alcohol dehydrate us even more. For every cup of coffee, drink two cups of water. Before and after that rita by the pool, order a bottle of water.

Happy Weekend!

SUMMER SKIN & HAIR SOS: Healthy Hippie Chick

Happy Friday Sassy Sistas!

I hope your June calendar has been filled with fruity sips by the pool, long lazy naps and memory making moments with those nearest and dearest. After a whirlwind Spring, we kicked off June with my family’s annual glamping trip to West Texas. My dad has been going there since he was a kid, then took us as kids so it’s even more special to be able to share that vacay with my parents now that we live in the Great State. We have minimal cell service and absolutely no wifi so our time is filled with grilling, watching the hummingbirds and catching up on great convo by the river and perhaps- saying nothing at all. Don’t you love being able to just “be” with those you love? My batteries are officially recharged! I didn’t’ even pack makeup. Yes, I’m serious! Ok, you know I don’t’ go anywhere without lipgloss.

With the Summer chillaxing also comes the bad tan lines from falling asleep on your stomach by the pool and chlorine dry hair that resembles a scarecrow. Our skin and hair needs constant attention during the Summer months even though we rather be on the low maintenance side. If you’ve followed SOS for a while, you know I become quite the hippie during June, July & August. We can still unleash our hippie chick and keep ourselves looking and feeling healthy. We don’t want to go into damage control at the end of August with horrible hyper pigmentation and split ends.

Here are the latest products I’m in love with and seeing amazing results:

skinceuticals-phloretin-cf__58391_zoom

SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF Serum

You all know I’m a serum junkie and forever on the search for the most effective one. I heard about SkinCeuticals years ago, but never got around to purchasing and trying it. HOLY MOLY!!! What took me so long. It’s the mother load of all serums and packed with antioxidants. Phloretin CF shields skin from damaging free radicals as it restores a more radiant, even complexion. I started using it at the end of May and can already see a dramatic difference in my skin.

BIOSIL

BioSil – Advance Collagen Generator

In combination to the SkinCeuticals, I started taking the supplement BioSil primarily to thicken my hair line after my sister recommended it. I didn’t realize in addition to thicker hair, it would plump up my skin. Proof that beauty, rejuvenation and health always starts on the inside. You can purchase it at Whole Foods.

alba-good_clean-scrub-web

alba BOTANICA good & clean toxin release scrub

We sweat more and our pores are overactive and creating more oil during warm weather. You know what that means? The dreaded blackheads take over! Yuck! For years I used the Swiss Ives Apricot Scrub and still trust that it is one of the all time best scrubs. This good & clean scrub by caught my eye recently in Target and the term “toxin release” peaked my interest. (The power of great marketing!!) This Spring I’ve been wearing more full face makeup than normal and spray tanning again so my pores have gotten super clogged. Combine that with the Texas sweat and my face needs a good scrub down exfoliation on a regular basis. Once a month doesn’t cut it!  Not only does this scrub provide great “scrubbing” action with the ground walnut, but the ten AHA-rich botanicals detoxes the skin to reveal refreshed radiant skin. I LOVE IT!

Loreal-Total-Repair-5-Damage-Erasing-Balm

L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm

If you are spending hours in the pool or salty beach water, do yourself a favor and run to Target and get this hair balm today! It’s just amazing. There’s not much else I can say. It works. My hair feels silky, strong and shiny. Just go get it. It’s the best $5.99 you’ll ever spend.

I will be back regularly again with my latest beauty & style tips as well as sharing some spiritual beauty tips.. which are always the most important.

I’ve missed you sistas!
