Hey Rockstar,
A tool that has helped me stay on track along with a vision board and goal/intention setting is my WORD OF THE YEAR. I think I started this 7-8 years ago, but I can’t quite remember. I do know that it has created a powerful foundation or an anchor for my year.
The definition of foundation is an underlying basis or principle for something; a basis (such as a tenet or principle) upon which something stands or is supported.
I get so excited about my WOTY that I started mulling, praying and meditating over it a few months ago. The word OVERFLOW kept coming to me in messages, podcasts, books, conversations with friends, etc. Originally, I learned the meaning of this on a spiritual level from the Bible verse John 10:10 [amp version] which is one of my life verses:
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

It makes total sense as I look back over 2017 and all the outstanding doors that God opened. Tears come to my eyes as I write this because I’m truly in awe of God’s goodness. It humbles me to think how much He loves us. Receiving has not always been easy for me and I sometimes doubt my “worthiness” for such love and blessings. Like many of you, I had to overcome major struggles and strongholds in my life. Healing has taken place (little x little) and I’m happy to report that my arms are wide open to receive ALL that God has for me. I am His beloved baby girl and so are you.
Back to “the” word. Overflow. One thing I have had to work hard to overcome is the lack and scarcity mentality that was passed down to me from family and also from my own issues with my worth and value. Let’s look back at John 10:10 — God sent His Son so that we may experience freedom and enjoy life BIGTIME. I mean, enjoy it and be so full of love, joy, peace, excitement, beauty, happiness, health that it overflows!! When we live in the state of overflow we have a good supply to give out to others.
We are ALL meant to live in the overflow.
So – why do we choose to live at a deficit, exhausted, depleted, starving? I admit, I lived like that for years, well- actually for more than half my life. NO MORE. I say no to scarcity. I say no to just enough. I say no to starving. I say no to running on fumes. In sharing this concept with one of my spectacular coaching clients, I came across a cool message about all this:
A BETTER NEW YEAR’S RITUAL
by Christine Kane
When you choose a word to guide you through your year, it becomes your touchstone.
It reminds you not just what you want to DO but also of who you want to BE.
This doesn’t mean you don’t take action. It simply means that your actions are now inspired from the BE level. In fact, you’ll probably take more action than ever.
That’s because choosing a word is tapping into intention. And intention is unfathomably powerful. Resolutions are fine, but they often come from our minds and, as such, are motivated by lots of “SHOULD’s.” They are task items, waiting to be checked off. Which means they are rarely inspiring and have little motivation to offer after a week or so.
A WORD, however, contains energy and images and meaning.
These are things our hearts and souls can get excited about.
And this is how transformation begins.
Now that I’ve shared my experience and the reason for doing the happy dance for the word overflow, it’s time for you to get clear on your intention for 2018 and frame it with one powerful, foundational word. Here’s a list to help you get started, but please go beyond this list if one does not stand out to you. Pay attention to how each word makes you feel:

Please make a comment and share your word here then text it to your mastermind group or close friend who can help keep you accountable to your WOTY!
Cheers to an overflowing 2018 and remember to………
