Bright Eyed & Bushy Tailed for the HoliDAZE

brighteyed_bushytailed

Because I work in front of the camera and have to look bright-eyed at a moments notice, I have found the following tips give me an instant well-rested look even after a night of little sleep, high sodium meals, sugary treats and one glass of wine too many!  On top of that, I have hereditary dark circles and puffy eyes.  The use of heaters and all the nasal issues we deal with during the winter can add to the puffy eye problem as well.  The combination of the following tips will give you the appearance of being bright eyed and bushy tailed and as if you slept a full 8 hours, I promise!

1. HYDRATE: Drink a large glass of water with juice from half a lemon. This aids in relieving a puffy face and cleanses the body of toxins. Also, helps keep your belly flatter for that sassy cocktail dress. (I actually down a big glass of lemon water first thing EVERY a.m.)

2. NATURAL DIURETIC: Puffiness is due to a build up of fluid under the eye.  Eat a bowl a strawberries to flush out water retention.  They are loaded with calcium, potassium and arginine which have diuretic properties.

3. TEA BAGS: Chill used tea bags in the fridge and apply to eyes for 10 minutes to reduce swelling. Cold spoons work as well, but aren’t as comfortable.

4.1.1
4. UNDER EYE CREAM WITH CAFFEINE:  Look for eye creams and serums with caffeine which shrinks fluid buildup under the eye. I use Garnier anti-dark circle rollerball with tint on days my eyes are extra dark and puffy. The caffeine plus the rollerball help de-puff the under eye area super quick.

GarnierEyeRollOn-769704
5. EGG WHITE MASK: Using approximately 1 teaspoon of an egg white as a facial mask will tighten the skin and shrink swelling and pore size. Wakes up your skin and gives you an instant glow. Make sure to do this mask the day of an important event where lots of photos will be taken! Your skin will be glowing and smooth.

6. HIGHLIGHTER IN CORNER OF EYES: Adding a brightening white, beige or peach eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eye adds a youthful look and widens the appearance of the eyes giving a more rested look.

7. VISINE: A ‘must do’ to whitens the eyes.

visine

9. ADD CUCUMBERS TO EVERY MEAL. (Great to do year round, not just the holidays!) Cucumbers contain silica, an ingredient which boosts moisture and elasticity to the skin. It’s awesome for hydrating dry skin and hair during winter. I’ve been eating a Persian cucumber before bed the past few months and can see a big difference in my skin when I wake up. Thanks to my sister, esthetician and wellness ambassador Natalie Bolton for the tip!

10. RAISE YOUR HEART RATE: Doing 50 jumping jacks or taking a brisk 15-20 minute walk instantly increases the circulation in the body which adds a flush to the cheeks helping you look and feel more awake.

jacks-400x400

Plus, if you can get in a few 15 minute power naps here and there during the holidays it will help you get through all the activities! Make sure to drink a protein shake or protein-rich snack like tuna fish before heading to a cocktail party. Protein digests slower giving you a “full” feeling longer and will keep you from lapping around the snack table one too many times.

SHOWER SOS: Winter Overall for the Bath & Shower

shower_blackwhiteHey Sistas!

Many of you on the East Coast are experiencing the first snowfall of the year. Believe it or not- it was 90 degrees here in LA yesterday, but the evenings are getting chilly and I have started to overall my bath & shower routine to prepare for the winter in Texas. It dropped to the 30’s there yesterday so I know my skin will have to adapt! Our skin, perspiration and oil production changes as the season’s change so it’s important to change your body wash, shampoo/conditioner and lotions. You know I am a Drugstore Diva and love finding great healthy products at the corner CVS, grocery store or Target.

Here’s my faves for giving your shower a winter SOS rescue:

alba-botanica-natural-very-emollient-bath-shower-gel-midnight-tuberose-midnight-tuberose

//ALBA NATURAL VERY EMOLLIENT BATH & SHOWER GEL//

This bath gel blends aloe vera, botanical extracts and fragrant herbs to gently cleanse, nourish and moisturize for healthy-looking skin. Hypo-allergenic and pH balanced.

St.Ives_seasalt

//ST.IVES Purifying Sea Salt Body Wash//

Renew your skin’s surface to reveal healthier looking skin with the 100% natural  exfoliants. Brighten dull skin while also hydrating.  Containing mineral salt and Pacific sea kelp, which are known to  supply skin with vitamins and anti-oxidants, the purifying formula invigorates tired, sluggish skin.

EO_bubble_bath_blu_chm_lav_md

//EO Blue Chamomile & Lavendar Bubble Bath//

I am a diehard bath lover and enjoy creating a spa-like environment with great smelling bubbles. Many are too harsh and filled with alcohol and skin-drying ingredients. Do you ever get out of the bath and your skin feels tight and itchy? It’s probably your bubble bath. I love this one by EO with Glycerin, Rice Proteins, Allantoin, and Panthenol which moisturize, hydrate and nurture the skin. Naturally derived plant Panthenol (Vitamin B) restores moisture.

SM_cond+shampoo

//SHEA MOISTURE Organice Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo + Restorative Conditioner//

An extra-moisturizing conditioner that de-tangles and repairs dry, damaged, or over-processed hair. With sea kelp, argan oil and raw, organic shea butter. Heal, grow and strengthen your hair!

albafoamshave-aloemint-web

//ALBA Natural Very Emollient Foam Shave in Aloe Mint//

Enriched with aloe vera, calendula, chamomile and vitamin E, this highly lubricating foam helps fight off dryness and chaffing.

traderjoes_bodybutter

//TRADER JOE’S Coconut Body Butter//

Before you get out of the shower, when your skin is still damp, apply a healthy oil based butter or straight coconut oil before your body lotion or use alone. I like to layer in the winter! This body butter contains Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, and Vitamin E.

SM_bodylotion

//SHEA MOISTURE Olive & Green Tea Body Lotion//

Olive Oil exhibits a high content of healing Vitamin E and fatty acids which help to hydrate, repair and heal skin.  Green Tea contains powerful antioxidants that protect skin from free radical damage.  Avocado is rich in Vitamins A, D and E, Lecithin and Potassium which help nourish skin.

BE FAB FRIDAY: A Lil Beauty, Style and Inspiration

Hey Sistas!

Here’s a few quick SOS tips to keep you looking + feeling fabulous….

{BEAUTY}

Keep your summer tan glowing into Fall with my fave new drugstore bronzer by Physicians Formula. Many bronzers look orangey or have too much sparkle which settles into wrinkles and can make your skin look older, ruddy and dirty. YIKES! This bronzer is a combo of a powder and cream which actually melts into the skin giving you a beautiful airbrushed glow!  Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Airbrushing Bronzing Veil Deluxe Edition

{STYLE}

As you begin pulling out your brown boots for Fall, remember to throw on a leopard belt for extra fabulous-ness. I got this calf hair skinny belt at Target, YEP… Target! I paired it with cognac colored clogs.

 The brilliant thing about a leopard belt is it goes with EVERY shade of brown. No more second guessing what belt to match!

{INSPIRATION}

I want to say thank you for receiving- with love- the recent blog about forgiving yourself. Many of you have sent me private messages sharing your journey with me. This is the beauty of the connection we have in SOS. It is a virtual circle of strong hands linked together in non-judgement and support. THE STRUGGLE FOR BEAUTY VS. THE BEAUTY IN STRUGGLE By Guest Blogger- My Sister Natalie Bolton

photo-4-1

Let me start off by saying that I am here to write about beauty-this is my agreed upon agenda. And as a licensed esthetician, I know a thing or two about beauty. So here we go…

I’m Natalie. I am your typical girl, well, to be clear; I am your typical tomboy slash girl. Growing up I would fight with my mother to wash my hair, and all hell would break loose if she caught me digging out my dirty clothes from the hamper to do the trusty “re-wear”.

So it’s actually a little funny that I am here to talk beauty, but life has its beautiful twists and turns.

As a kid, I would watch my big sister do her (what I thought to be mystical and enigmatic) fashion and make-up rituals. It was as if I was watching spirits being called down in a Native American fire dance or something. It was just so mysterious to witness for someone such as myself that was more of the likes of perfecting the art of rounding third base. She was so sophisticated and graceful.  As I got older I started to see other kinds of beautiful as well.

And it had nothing to do with product, the latest miracle whatever or overpriced red-bottomed shoes.

It all started when I was 13 traveling the world as a missionary. I was part of a team that helped build homes, provide and prepare food, and gave clothing to families in need. I was able to see through all the barriers and experience the beauty in these people for who they were, how they lived, and the texture of their struggle, which made them beautiful.

As I was doing my best to bring solace to these less fortunate, they also provided me with something-an exhilarating joy and peace that only comes from serving others and giving back.

Cut to a few months back, I had the privilege of performing a facial treatment on a new client. She was a tiny woman with the biggest, sweetest spirit. I walked back in the treatment room from allowing her to change before the service, and was shocked to see that she had removed her wig. Her hair was wiry, patchy, and grayed in some spots-but I didn’t react or comment. I draped her hair like I would at the start of any facial and simply began. She was gripping the wig in her hands to the point that her knuckles could arguably have been turning white. I then sensed that this wig must have become such a protective piece of armor. And it was in this moment my heart was touched by her. By the end of the facial she was no longer gripping her wig. She had trusted me and was completely relaxed and was able to fall asleep -so much so, that she was snoring sweetly.

I felt honored to be able to provide service for this woman (who was a cancer survivor as she explained to me later). The uncomfortable realization that I have never had to sit in a doctor’s office to receive a life threatening diagnosis stirred something inside me. It hit me like a runaway train. I have never had to walk in those shoes, and yet, my experience with her for this brief time was completely life affirming. She touched me. I’m not really even sure why. As my client she was kind and thankful for my service and extremely pleasant. She was so beautiful on the inside in spite of the remaining effects of her pain. So beautiful in what she had endured. In that moment she was beautiful to me. She brought back for me the feeling I had serving others in those far away lands. The feeling of connecting with another human being came back to me with such a fierce familiarity.

And once again I am experiencing the glorious confusion of who is actually being of service to whom. She made a difference in my life.  I will never forget that exchange.

Living in the land of the “beautiful people” I know that beauty comes in many forms, but I strongly believe it all starts from within. The mandate for my life is not only bringing beauty to people by external means with new technologies, and cutting-edge technique, my goal is to also refresh the spirit. I pray every morning to bring beauty to the spirit of everyone I touch-so they leave feeling more beautiful and at peace after they leave me. I want to live my life like that as well.

I want to leave the world more beautiful than when I found it.

Shifting gears a bit; I feel that one of the most important issues in the beauty industry today is the lie we believe about ourselves. We are inundated with the lie that we are not enough, and we believe it over and over again. Little girls are growing up feeling inadequate-too fat, too short, eyes are too big, nose not perfect…and these lies are dangerous. These lies are killing us. The beauty industry is a 59.8 billion dollar industry in the US alone. So it is clear we all desperately desire to see beauty through our view. And I am by no means trying to bring profit loss to this industry. BUT I think we can redirect the way people see themselves. We can reaffirm the beauty within us. We can embrace the inherited diversity that lies within and that is brought to life by existing with others. The difference that gives one little girl signature freckles and another little girl slanted almond shaped eyes IS the definition of beauty.

We need to re-approach the beauty industry from a place of celebration and not from a place of fear.

I find it my personal mission to be on the forefront of that redirection and reconnection to the beauty that exists in all of us.I am here to take a stand for every person I encounter to help transform his or her negative view.  And I have no problem doing it one by every single one.

Are you ready to say “YES” to being Sexy Fit & Fab at ANY age? By Guest Blogger: Author + Beauty Expert Susie Augustin {Plus Book Giveaway}

Susie headshot

Meet the beautiful Susie Augustin!

Susie is a beauty expert, speaker and author of Sexy, Fit & Fab at Any Age!  In this book she shares eight keys that help women of all ages explore their inner and outer beauty, inspiring them to develop their essences, exude confidence, embrace their true selves and feel extraordinary. With a marketing degree and aesthetician license, she has over fifteen years experience in the health and beauty industry. Susie is an author, speaker, educator, publisher, columnist, marketing copywriter and branding specialist. She studied theatre, acting and improv for ten years and loves connecting with an audience. Susie has been a featured speaker at numerous workshops, with topics such as skincare, health, beauty, sex appeal, confidence building, writing and publishing. Having worked at some of the world’s most well-known and top rated beauty companies, she’s motivated thousands of women to look and feel their best, to embrace their sex appeal and to live a healthy lifestyle. Susie is excited about her new publishing company Get Branded Press. She offers workshops on how to write and publish a book, with several different services provided, such as book development, editing, proofreading, ghostwriting, book layout and many more. Susie’s motto is Dream it. Brand it.

SOS asked Susie to share her thoughts on a few topics we see many women dealing with today:

SOS: Many women seem to lose confidence in themselves when they become a new mother. What is your #1 piece of advice for women who feel they’ve lost their spunk, sizzle, moxie and sex appeal after they have a baby?

SA: Due to the celebrities we see in the media, we have a false perception of women regarding beauty, fitness, and bouncing back to pre-baby weight and body immediately after having a baby. The average woman doesn’t have the access to a personal chef, trainer, nannies, housekeepers, or the funds for liposuction, photo shoots and airbrushing. To all the new moms out there, give yourself huge credit for going through childbirth and putting the health and happiness of your new baby and family first. Don’t compare yourself to celebrity moms. It’s not realistic to bounce back right away in a bikini. It’s all about what works in your lifestyle.

You have to take a moment for yourself every day. Take a shower and put on some makeup to start your day off right. Planning a date night at least once a month is essential, as parenthood puts stress on a relationship. Remind your partner on date night how sexy you are by throwing on some heels, hoop earrings, lipstick, and strut your sass -confidence is sexy to men!

SOS: What was the best beauty tip you ever received and who was it from?

SA: Smile!  A smiling, happy face is a beautiful face. I’ve heard this throughout my life and I’ve been telling this to girls and women for years. As far as beauty products, my mom started selling Avon when I was eleven. I was introduced to washing my face and wearing sun protection daily at an early age. Years later studies showed that aging skin (lines, wrinkles, skin discoloration) is due to sun damage, so I’m grateful that I took preventative measures.

SOS: You are on a mission to motivate other women to look and feel their best, but how have YOU personally stayed motivated through the years? Many women seem to hit a certain age and just give up or throw in the towel…

SA: Staying positive, following my dreams and living a healthy lifestyle keep me centered, confident and enthusiastic about life. I enjoy being around like-minded people, so most of my friends are the same way. We constantly motivate and inspire each other. As we go through changes and challenges in life – stress, divorce, childbirth, health issues, weight gain, entering a new decade – we are able to lean on each other to get tips on how to look and feel better. I’ll set health, fitness, and weight loss goals with some of my friends. Many times we’ll do it together and keep each other on track. When you realize that we all go through ups and downs and experience insecurities, you feel less alone and the size of your challenges feel more manageable. I also regularly attend personal development seminars and networking events and am meeting fabulous new friends with similar interests.

SOS: Women are spread so thin and wear so many hats these days.  In your book, you teach the importance of living a balanced life.  We always need to reset and readjust things in order to stay on track. How do you reset when you find yourself getting unbalanced?

SA: The eight keys to living a balanced life in my book Sexy, Fit & Fab at Any Age are Spirit, Nutrition, Exercise, Education, Passion, Personality, Grooming and Sex Appeal. I do my best to stay balanced but it can be a challenge, even when you are pursuing your passions and everything in life is great. Setting goals and priorities are a great way to stay on track. Start with small goals and take baby steps. It’s not always practical trying to do everything every day. Be flexible. I like to start off my day with the first three keys, by taking a quick walk, having a green drink, writing in my journal and listening to an inspirational CD. Some days I have two hours for this, and other days only 45 minutes. I’ve learned not to be so hard on myself if I can’t get it all done, and remember that small cumulative steps can slowly build up to beautiful results.

SOS: What would you tell your 16 year old self?

SA: Take care of yourself and follow your dreams. Be patient, flexible, and open to things happening in unexpected ways. Be okay that life doesn’t always go according to your schedule; sometimes it takes longer or the outcome may be even greater than you’d dreamed. Know that your inner and natural beauty is one of your biggest assets.

SOS: Many people aspire to become an author and share their message with the world, but it seems like a daunting task.  How did you get started? What’s the first step to writing a book?

SA: I’ve always been passionate about reading and writing since I was young, and even my friends had me proofread and correct their book reports for them. Years later I went into the beauty industry and did everything from skincare, makeup, sales, training, marketing and copywriting. So it was through natural progression that my friend Kim Somers Egelsee asked me to speak at Willow Tree Circle about beauty and sex appeal. Women of all ages were interested in knowing more and asked when my book was coming out. During this time, Kim asked me to edit her book Getting Your Life to a 10 Plus. I started Get Branded Press and published both of our books and we had an amazing red carpet book launch, as well as hitting the Amazon Bestseller list. This is an amazing testament to what can happen when women practice being supportive of each other rather than competitive.

Since we both get requests daily for tips on how to write a book, what the process is, how to overcome writer’s block, and how to self-publish, we created Writing to WOW, a book writing workshop that is coming this September. The workshop includes visualizations to open up creativity, choosing a topic to write on, learning how to outline your book, and more. Complete information will be posted on my website soon at http://www.SexyFitFab.com. In the meantime, grab a notebook and pen (yes, I’m asking you to write, not type, as this opens up creativity) and make a list of your interests and passions. Pick one and write a paragraph about it. Challenge yourself to write even more. I also suggest writing in a journal daily. Get your feelings out, vent, write a gratitude list or to-do list for the day. You don’t need to be eloquent or articulate, just start writing!

SUMMER SOLSTICE BEAUTY/STYLE/INSPIRATION

summer_palms copy

Hello Sunshine!

Summer solstice arrives tomorrow which marks the official start to summer. Yipppeeee!  For you that are moms, I am sure you’re busy planning lots of activities with the kids while they’re out of school so I’ll make this as short + sweet as possible today so you get on with the summer fun.

//BEAUTY//

You’ve probably heard about the BB + CC Cream craze by now.  These are brilliant beauty multitaskers that renew, brighten, even skin tone, hydrate and protect. I am a diehard fan of the Physicians Formula Healthy Wear Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 50, but I wanted to test out something new for summer.  When the weather changes, so does my skin and I tend to get a few light breakouts so I like to switch things up.  I am pleased to tell you that the Garnier BB Cream for Combo/Oily skin is awesome and the colors blend so well on the skin unlike many others that have a pasty white undertone.  It prevents that “summertime shiny face” and really lives up to it’s claim of lasting all day.  The only downside is it’s only an SPF 20 so I make sure to wear my Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid SPF 70 underneath.  Also, if you have dry skin- this is not the BB Cream for you.  Garnier makes a few different types for your specific skin needs.  CVS $12.99

Just about every store I’ve been in lately has these fun printed leggings. Seen them?  Some prints are way too crazy and should never grace a pair of legs, but I do like the black and white graphic prints.  It’s such a nice alternative for summer instead of those boring black lululemon yoga pants.  I had to take my own advice– and choose the bold print over the same old black leggings and walk confidently out the door to yoga class.  I was a bit nervous, but I have to tell you… I felt like a rockstar in yoga!  Strangely enough, I even had a better workout.  Just remember, some of the prints can make the junk in your trunk a bit too junky– if ya know what I’m saying– so wear a longer tank that covers it. The best ones I’ve seen are from H&M.

//INSPIRATION//

Recently, I had the privilege of leading a workshop with a group of amazing women of all ages. One of the topics we covered was COMPASSION.  I want to share our discussion with the hope that it will inspire and help you live with more compassion, not only for others, but for yourself:

COMPASSION- A feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.

  • How compassionate are you overall?
  • Do you have genuine compassion for others?
  • Do you have compassion for yourself? Enough so to make the necessary changes needed to live your best life and alleviate any suffering you are experiencing?

Step Up:  Be more compassionate and loving toward yourself and others. See the light in others despite a hard exterior.  Put yourself in their shoes in order to see where they are coming from. Reflect on the areas you know you need to make changes. Write them down. Attach a timeframe to your goals. Walk it out. Devote time to nurturing yourself.  Be a blessing to others even in the midst of your own storm.

“Compassion is the ultimate and most meaningful embodiment of emotional maturity. It is through compassion that a person achieves the highest peak and deepest reach in his or her search for self-fulfillment.” -Arthur Jersild, Professor/Author

DON’T BE SCARED! 5 Tips To Get Bikini-Ready by Guest Beauty Blogger Asia DeMarcos

144019

Hi Superhero’s in disguise!

Summer is here and you want to get yourself bikini-ready for festivities. Here are my top 5 tips to keep things looking smooth and pretty. Don’t be scared. Whether you wax or shave, getting things in “order” will keep you feeling smooth and silky for the pool.

1) The retro look may be in, but to keep you from yelling “Ohhh, Kelly Clarkson”, you’ll need to trim the hedges before your waxer does the down and dirty. Your husband may not have seen it in a year, but when your esthetician see’s it, she will be more grateful to have it less wrangley. Our hairline can grow in multiple directions, and it’s hard to see in the deep jungle ladies. So, to keep things less than painful- trim it up!

{Beautasia tip} To trim hair, grab it from the root and twist, cut with safety scissors, then throw it in the toilet. (buh bye, less mess)

{Beautasia bonus tip}To help from pain, Take 2 Ibuprofen 30 minutes before or for super chickens, check out  Relax and Wax- No Scream Cream – a topical analgesic you apply 30-45 minutes before your appointment.

2) Don’t shave in between waxing! The hair follicles grow at different rates. To keep things on a more even playing field, stick to your waxing schedule every 4-6 weeks.

3) DO NOT SHOWER OR STEAM before you wax! The skin will be softer and be more likely to tear or rip. YIKES. I’ve seen it happen.

{Beautasia tip} For you smell-a-phobes, use an unscented baby wipe before your appointment.

4) To help you from getting those nasty, ingrown hairs in between visits, EXFOLIATE! The hair follicle becomes weaker and can’t break through the skin. That will lead to irritation. Body scrub or exfoliating gloves are best once a week.

5) Shaving? In this case…It’s best to do after a warm bath or shower. The hair follicles will loosen up allowing you to get a closer shave. Be sure to use a cold blade, rinsing the blade with cool water to lessen the chances of razor burn.

Hope this helps. I would love to hear if you have any great tips or products you would like to share in the comment section below. For something new everyday LIKE me. For quick tips and questions. Follow me of for skincare tips and funny videos, SUBSCRIBE! I love Pinning too!

FABULOUS FRIDAY {A lil beauty, style + inspiration}

ELF_lipbalm

HAPPY FRIDAY FASHIONISTAS!

BEAUTY: I am in love with e.l.f. products and recently picked up this fabulous tinted lip balm with SPF 15Only $3.00 and it’s super moisturizing with a touch of color plus it protects your smackers from harmful rays.  For a lipgloss/lipbalm/lipstick addict, it’s perfect for casual days when you are heading to the gym, the pool or just hanging at home.  Target has the biggest selection of e.l.f products!

STYLE: One of my fave “go to” items is a chic black blazer, but it can become boring when you wear it on a regular basis.  The quickest ways to transform and add life to any boring outfit is to add a colorful statement necklace.  I’m obsessed with this turquoise bib necklace I picked up on my trip to Africa a few years ago.  A colorful geometric necklace is also super hot this Spring/Summer.

INSPIRATION: Toward the end of a long hike yesterday, I came across these wooden stairs.  My legs were totally fatigued, but I had to climb these stairs to get to my car.  Grrrrrrr- I just stood there panting and annoyed that I had to tackle these after I already made the long journey.  Funny, this is such a profound symbolism for our life’s journey, isn’t it?!  I had to snap a pic as a reminder.   Of course, I sucked it up and climbed this short- but challenging- flight of stairs and made it to the finish line, my car and A/C.  Just when you think you can’t go on any longer, remember you are stronger than you “feel” so keep climbing, keep going and never give up no matter what hurdles, mountains, valleys, potholes or staircases you encounter along the journey.  Dig deeper and you will reach the finish line with hands waving in the air and breeze in your hair.

HAVE A FABULOUS FRIDAY + WEEKEND AHEAD!

DRUGSTORE DIVA SCORES AGAIN!

Hello my Fellow Drugstore Divas!

Revlon-Photoready-Foundation-Swatches1

I’m thrilled to share my latest drugstore score with you girls.  As you know, my favorite foundation is Makeup Forever’s HD Invisible Coverage, but I wanted to find out if there was a comparable drugstore version.  SCORE!  Let me introduce you to Revlon’s PhotoReady Makeup.  It has the same texture and airbrushed look as Makeup Forever with even better coverage!  An important feature I always look for with a foundation is the PUMP and Revlon has it.  When a bottle has a large opening and the foundation has to be poured into your hand it grows bacteria much faster and shortens the life of the bottle.  It is always difficult to purchase the right shade of foundations from the drugstore because you can’t test and swatch the colors, but luckily– I chose the perfect shade and it’s almost the exact shade as the MF color I use.  The best part is Revlon is only $12.99 VS the $45 price tag on MF.  Beauty on a budget! Gotta love it!

Revlon PhotoReady™ Makeup – for poreless, airbrushed skin in any light. Photochromatic pigments bend and reflect light to erase every flaw. Complete, yet undetectable coverage. Soft, luminous finish.

– Oil free
– Fragrance free
– SPF 20

Midweek Check-In:

How are you doing with this week’s affirmations?  The topic of People Pleasing seemed to resonate with several of you and I appreciate you who were brave enough to comment and voice the issue.  This really is a daily practice.  Just like an alcoholic who chooses every single day NOT to take that drink, we have to choose daily to say NO when we should, to stand up for our wants/needs, to set AND stick to our boundaries and most of all……Love + Respect ourselves.

WALK TALL!
