SOME SIMPLE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE.. it never ever fails. Period.

love-never-fails

Hello LOVElies,

Yes, we all know it is the month for love and I’m fully aware that we have Valentine’s messages coming at us from all directions.  Does it make you want to puke already?  Well, be relieved– I am not going to talk about chocolates, lingerie or roses.  Usually my posts are colorful and whimsical.  Sorry, there’s no red or pink in today’s post.  I’m giving it to you straight and would rather share the simple but PROFOUND truth about love.  By now, if you have been following my blog for a while you know I have a strong faith in God and because of all the obstacles I’ve faced in life, I have had to work HARD on my “love walk”.  I admit I had become cynical toward love and it’s taken a while for my heart to soften.  Now it’s like puddy.

I have had a long journey to trusting and loving others.  This is where I have to give mad props to my hubby for being an example of love and humility every single day.  We just celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary on the 11th and I’m not sure if I would fully understand the purity of love if it wasn’t for him.   That man has put up with my walls, my anger and my issues.   He just kept loving me through it all.  See, I allowed the wrong men in my life for years and with all the baggage I carried including ‘daddy issues’– I don’t think I truly understood real love until I found God.  Then, God brought my hubby and I was officially on the Love Train.. woo hoo!  So– if you have a problem with the Bible, go ahead and log off this blog post now.  BUT, I would hope you would open your heart because I believe the Bible to be the very best ‘self-help’ book on the planet.  1 Corinthians 13 is known as the “Love Chapter” and it’s the greatest reminder of how we should all live our lives…….and not just on Valentine’s Day.

Do you love others easily?

What about the very difficult, high maintenance people?

Do you allow your ego to take over and judge others instead of showing love?

When we focus on coming from a place of love- AT ALL TIMES- instead of allowing our ego to take over, we remain in peace and peace is a place of power!  Many issues, squabbles and stupid altercations come from allowing our ego to rule over us.  I have to read 1 Corinthians 13 on weekly basis to keep myself in-check.

LOVE NEVER FAILS!

Try it and you’ll see.  The next time  your ego takes over… STOP.  Picture yourself in the other persons shoes and approach the sitch from a place of love… NOT EGO!

With all my love,

Tiff

FEARLESS. FIERCE. FABULOUS. {Sunday Eve Affirmations}

Hey Fearless Fashionista!

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and had a beautiful Thanksgiving holiday!  Now it’s time to switch gears and get focused on having a successful week ahead.  For those of you who are new blog subscribers, I want to explain how these Sunday Eve Affirmations came to be…. I began noticing so many women complaining about how exhausted they were by the end of the weekend from all the social engagements, house work and their kids activities.  They would start the week tired, weak, resentful and foggy brained.  Girls, please stop putting so much on your plate!  It’s OK to decline a social invitation from time-to-time.  Hire a housekeeper once or twice a month.  NEVER underestimate the power of staying in your PJ’s all day, once in a while.  Resting, unplugging and nurturing yourself only helps you be a better woman, a better wife, girlfriend, mom, sister, daughter, business woman, friend, etc.  I have learned to keep my schedule manageable and live a slower paced lifestyle.  I have dealt with ulcers and anxiety attacks in the past from trying to do too much, work too much and trying to please everyone all the time.  HALLALUJEH- I’m recovered from all that now and I hope the same for you!

So, I began harping on the importance of taking “ME” time every weekend then took it a step further and created affirmations with an encouraging blog post on Sunday evenings.  Immediately, I received tons of comments from you ladies saying the Sunday blog really helped you get still + set your mind for a positive week ahead.  I don’t know about you, but I need CONSTANT reminders and affirmations to help me stay balanced and keep my clarity.  My computer screen has a million little sticky notes on it and my fridge is covered with quotes, affirmations and Bible verses.  This sista needs it smack in front of her face at all times!  For the week ahead, let’s focus on being fearless and by being fearless, we become our most fierce + fabulous.  HOLLA!

THIS WEEK I WILL NOT BE AFRAID TO….

  1. Take risks.
  2. Say NO!
  3. Try that hot yoga class my friend invited me to.
  4. Keep my plate manageable.
  5. Stand up for myself.
  6. Be ALL that I dream of being.
  7. Listen to my inner voice.
  8. Buy those red high heels + rock ’em!
  9. Give up an old mindset, old habit, old addiction that is holding me back.
  10. Love to the point of complete vulnerability.
  11. RISE UP AND BE MY MOST FIERCE + FABULOUS! (even if it pisses some people off)

I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic!
