HORMONE HELL TO HORMONE HEAVEN

IMG_3869

Hello Gorgeous!

I shared this berry smoothie on social media a few days ago and it got people talking so I wanted to make sure you blog sistas got it too. When I was in my early 30’s, I suffered from hormonal cystic acne around my chin. I was left with some scarring, a lighter wallet from wasting money on dermatologists and emotional anguish because my face was part of how I made a living in front of the camera. It took a toll on my self-esteem! This sucked. This had to STOP. I was miserable. I took matters into my own hands and began researching how our hormones are effected from the foods we eat.

Check out my findings in this video>>

I am religious about my daily serving of blueberries and strawberries! This has been part of my lifestyle for over 5 years now and I rarely get a cystic zit anymore. Hallallujah!

The smoothies recipe is quick and easy:

  • 1 CUP Almond Milk (unsweetened without added sugar)
  • Serving of your favorite vanilla whey or pea protein powder
  • 6 Chopped Medium Strawberries
  • 2 Small Handfuls of Blueberries
  • Dash of Cayenne Pepper
  • For additional antioxidants, add spinach and a tablespoon of coconut oil.

Today, a month before my 45th birthday, I am treating myself to bio-identical hormone therapy! I am so excited for my first appointment to start the pellet therapy at Etre Belle. Ladies, please do not ignore the signs. I have been living on an emotional roller coaster the past year. (I’m sure being on a stressful reality show didn’t help either LOL!!) My moods are all over the place and it makes me feel crazy. I’m typically a high energy, sharp minded gal and I’ve been so sluggish and foggy brained. Do not wait until you are in full menopause to get your hormones balanced.

HELLO HORMONE HELL!!!

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement at Etre Belle
Overcome the effects of aging related to hormone decline. Bioidentical hormones are identical in molecular and structural function to the hormones produces in the human body. Different from synthetic hormones, which are created in labs, bio-identical hormones are more easily metabolized and create fewer side effects. Hormones that may be out of balance are estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol, DHEA and thyroid hormones. Benefits of hormone replacement include:

  • Relief from hot flashes and night sweats
  • Decreased irritability and mood swings
  • Weight loss and decreased body fat
  • Increased libido
  • Higher energy levels
  • Improved skin elasticity (less wrinkles)
  • Improved memory
  • Better sleep
  • Decreased effects of osteoporosis
  • Enhanced quality of life

Testing and analysis for hormone replacement treatments are done to determine specific, individual needs and include:
Complete Thyroid Panel, Complete Blood Count, Testosterone Total and Free, Estrogens, and Progesterone along with Metabolic Function, Lipid (cholesterol) Levels, Markers for Inflammation and Disease Screening for Diabetes.

I am excited to log my experience and results! We should all be living a vibrant and energetic life. Nowadays, many women start perimenopause in their 30’s so please pay attention to your body.

We can turn hormone hell into hormone heaven!

Love, Tiff

WIN THE BATTLE OVER ADULT ACNE!

HELLO GORGEOUS!

I recently asked you all to submit your questions and concerns and WHOA BABY- sounds like lots of you girls are suffering from hormonal adult acne. (GRRRRR!!!)  I have been there, done that and know too well how your self-esteem suffers from it.  In today’s webisode, I give you the strategy that  has helped me win the battle once and for all. (HALLELUJAH!!!)  We usually see the first signs of adult acne in our late 20’s when our hormones start changing and many women experience it after childbirth when their hormones are regulating. Then, several women may experience it all over again in their 50’s-60’s as they go through menopause.  With a few minor tweaks and supplements, we can all experience the freedom of beautiful, clear, healthy skin!  This is an extra long video because I just couldn’t edit out any info!

Get out your notepad + pen….

{Cleanser with Salicylic Acid}

{Fave scrub by Sia Botanics}

{Weekly At-Home Greek Yogurt Facial}

{Blueberries Neutralize Oils}

{Turmeric Spice or in a Supplement Form}

Sunday Eve Affirmations: I WILL…..

Hey Lovely Ladies,

When you close your eyes and think of the word, ABUNDANCE, what comes to mind?  Here is Webster’s definition:

a·bun·dance [noun]
1.an extremely plentiful or oversufficient quantity or supply.
2.overflowing fullness

This week, my wish for all of us, is that we stop and appreciate the abundance in our lives. It is not about how fat our bank account is or the “things” we acquire.  Abundance is feeling vibrant, alive and fully living each day with love and passion. It’s about enjoying the simple moments, the unexpected blessings that make life beautiful and most importantly, being grateful for what we have!  Life is short.  I watch so many people wasting their lives away trying to get more, do more and earn more money– yet they can’t maintain healthy relationships and their aging themselves too quickly because they are all work and no play.  I was one of those people and almost became a drug addict because of it.  My resume, the networks and producers I worked for, the size of my paycheck, the Gucci hangbag on my arm and the SUV I drove was my definition of abundance….BOY, did I have it all wrong!

THIS WEEK, I WILL….

  1. Not lower myself by participating in gossip.
  2. Be an encourager instead of a critic.
  3. Get my glow on by eating a serving of blueberries every morning.
  4. Dance, paint, sing or do whatever that makes me feel free.
  5. Rock a dash of leopard print.
  6. Shine my light because the world needs it.
  7. Schedule my workouts as if they are an important meeting.
  8. Simplify my life + clear the clutter wherever it needs it.
  9. Drink a glass of lemon water upon rising before my coffee or tea.
  10. Say a prayer of gratitude for my abundant life.
  11. Release all fears + doubts and GO FOR IT!

{Daily Serving of Blueberries}

{Dash of Leopard Print}

{Shine On}

I would love to hear your comments on how these weekly affirmations have been effective in your life.

We’re in this together!

If you see a sister who’s spark is dim this week, help her out by fanning her flame and be an encouragement instead of a critic.

RADIATE LOVE,

Tiff
