Checking in to see if you have been using yours? Erin Dawn has and just had to share her message from Facebook:

I see your posts and watch you guys on RHOD and think ‘I wish I had that’. My relationship was so unhealthy because God wasn’t first. Then I started watching your videos and got a little bit of courage….and a little bit more until I left that relationship and started loving me. God sent me that person I was meant to be with and he was my best friend first. Thank you Tiffany for teaching me how to love myself. You are truly my angel. Thanks for being beautiful on the inside and out. Thanks for teaching me to ‘use my lady balls’.

I’m sitting here watching the blinking cursor trying to think of something profound to write, but I can’t. I’m just truly in awe- complete chills-up-the-spine, belly flip flop, jaw dropping awe-  of God. He can even use social media as a mission field!

My passion (really it’s an obsession) is for women to drop the fear and pick up more faith, lose the shame and gain more confidence.
I want that for YOU!

Grab Your Lady Balls, Gorgeous!

Gorgeous_marwilliamson

Hello Gorgeous!

Who’s happy it’s Saturday? ME! How was your week? I’m sure many of you are running around like crazy preparing the kids for back to school. Are you happy summer is almost over?

I had an off-the-charts week so I’m looking forward to resting, refueling and recharging this weekend. That consists of catching up on some reading, journaling, napping and cooking…yes, call me crazy, but cooking relaxes me. What “me” time activity will you be enjoying in this weekend? Do something that feeds your spirit. You can’t continue to give out if you do not fill back up.

Last Saturday, I had the honor and privilege of speaking on a panel alongside leaders in the Asian-American community hosted by Against The Grain Productions. I admit, although I’ve done it many times and even train others in public speaking- I still get nervous when I speak to a crowd! My hands sweat, I get a headache, I have to pee and my mouth feels like a desert. It’s easy breezy when I speak to a camera that goes to thousands, but feeling the eyeballs and energy in person makes my tummy flop. Perhaps it’s because you can see the approval or disapproval in their eyes and hear the laughs or silence. They say that speaking in public is one of the top 3 fears, right? When I was originally asked to participate, I went into that head spin of trying to talk myself out of it. “I’m not Asian enough to add value…I suck at speaking…I didn’t grow up in the Asian community…my dad is a Japanese redneck”  was the track playing on repeat on the CD in my head.

I took my own advice from my recent motivational video on stepping out of your comfort zone, grabbed my lady balls and went for it. Cue the Rocky soundtrack now, “Eye Of The Tiger”, baby! Daaa-Da-Da-Da…Rising up to the challenge..!  What is waiting for us on the other side of our comfort zone is freedom, confidence, self-assurance, peace and happiness. Although I did need a stiff skinny margarita afterward. Just saying’. Not only were the attendees inspired by what the panelists and I shared, but it was a mutual exchange of love, respect and appreciation. Remember, sharing your journey creates connection and several people came up to me afterward and said “me too”. What a blessing. I’m truly grateful to the ATG President and Co-Founder Tammy Nguyen Lee for this opportunity. Check out this recap by the eloquent Lisa Petty for DFW Style Daily.

Whew, thank God I didn’t chicken out and shrink back. A healthy challenge always open us up for the opportunity to grow. When we grow, we shine. Are you shrinking back and staying stagnant…which ultimately dulls your light? The world needs your light, sista! This experience reminded me of my life quote by Marianne Williamson. I have shared excerpts from this quote many times on SOS and it is truly appropriate for today’s message of courage.

Please take a moment to read it again, word for word and line by line.

Let it sink in.

Apply it to your life today and never look back.

Love, Tiff

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’

Actually, who are you not to be?

YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

TGIF!  I want to end the week with an inspiring passage from an awesome book, Shift Happens! by Robert Holden, Ph.D.

One step is all it takes to find your bridge– one “YES”, one act of courage, one radical thought, one shift in perception, one dare, one prayer, one moment of forgiveness, one apology, or one phone call. Remember, you are the alchemist. The world mirrors your intention, your trust, and your faith. Either you can wait, or you can start walking.

Unless you choose happiness,

you will wait forever for it.

Unless you bring a new intention,

the outcome will be the same.

Unless you let go of your past,

you will not see the present.

Unless you drop your defenses,

you will never reach safety.

Unless you first commit to her,

you will not see her beauty.

Unless you first commit to him,

he cannot be the one.

Unless you are ready to love,

you will not find love.

Unless you give up your ego,

you will not discover your spirit.

Wishing you a weekend full of fun and refueling! Dance across the living room to an old Madonna song. Take a bubble bath and sing at the top of your lungs like Julia Roberts did in Pretty Woman. Pick up a bouquet of your favorite flowers. Watch the squirrels play in the backyard.

Do whatever it is that makes your Spirit happy.

Love, Tiff

CONSISTENTLY COURAGEOUS {Sunday Affirmations}

quote-courage-is-the-most-important-of-all-the-virtues-because-without-courage-you-can-t-practice-any-maya-angelou-5507

Hey Wonder Woman!

Last week I watched the episode of Super Soul Sunday with Maya Angelou online.  Have you seen it?  I think Part 2 is still posted so try to catch it.  Her story of courage, triumph, bravery and success has been resonating with me all week.  In this Oprah interview, Maya spoke of the concept of courage being the foundation of all other virtues (above quote) so it forced me to look inward at my own level of courage.  Often throughout my life, I have been courageous and brave, but there are also many times I have tucked my tail between my legs and chose to shrink back.  We all have a certain level of courage, but what is that special ingredient that gives us that little bit extra tenacity to tap into our inner Wonder Woman and push forward instead of shrinking back?  Can you think of a time right now when you consciously chose to dig deeper and dust off your red + gold bustier?  It’s a great exercise to reflect on those moments as a reminder for the next time we are tempted to be a coward instead of courageous.

Courage is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty or intimidation.

I takes courage to walk down the aisle and make the vow. It takes courage to wake up everyday and raise your child.  It takes courage to follow your dreams.  It takes courage to walk away from a toxic relationship.  It takes courage to speak your truth. It takes courage not to conform.  It takes courage to let go of your past. So, yes– I definitely believe in Ms. Angelou’s concept that it takes courage to practice all the other virtues consistently.  Cheers to all of us having more consistent courage this week.  Even if you have to fake-it-till-ya-make it.  You can be courageous even when you don’t feel like.  I love John Wayne’s quote, “Courage is being scared and saddling up anyway”. Go lock yourself in the bathroom and do the Wonder Woman spin if it will help….

THIS WEEK I WILL…..

  1. Reflect on my many courageous moments.
  2. Dig deeper when I feel my wimpy self taking over.
  3. Not shrink back.
  4. Dust off my imaginary red + gold bustier.
  5. Remember God is always on my side.
  6. Be brave!
  7. Never ever ever ever give up.
  8. Not allow anyone to intimidate me.
  9. Face my fears head on.
  10. Pray to have more courage.
  11. Do the right thing.
  12. Put my shoulders back + WALK TALL!
