HOLIDAY HOTSTUFF

Hello Hotstuff!

With the hurricane devastation and important presidential election at the forefront of our minds, I have not felt it was appropriate to share any style + fashion tips.  It just seemed superficial in the grand scheme of things.  That’s the main reason I have kept the past few blog posts in the vein of inspiration, in case you were wondering:-)  I welcome a bit of distraction now that the election is over!  Who else had a headache all day yesterday?  Ok, that’s all I’m going to say about that.  There is enough discussion on TV and social media.

Let’s get back to talking about clothes, shoes and sparkly things!  Thanksgiving is in a few weeks and that means all the holiday parties are right around the corner! Are you already shopping for that perfect cocktail dress?  Here’s a few tips to remember when shopping…  I receive emails and comments all the time about what type and color of shoes to wear with cocktail dresses.  You can never go wrong with a METALLIC PEEP-TOE PUMP!  This is a ‘must have’ staple we should all have in our closets.  This pump is sleek + chic without all the bells, whistles, straps and blisters.  The peep-toe is fun + flirty and you can rock them with slacks and skinny jeans as well.  It’s really THE perfect shoe, in my opinion.  Also, a big question I get all the time is what type of jacket to wear with cocktail dresses so I am reposting my webisode from last year.  Lastly, never ever ever forget a sparkly cocktail ring!  It’s the cherry-on-top of your holiday outfit!

Remember to upload a photo of yourself to Facebook rockin’ your hot holiday outfit this season!

Please share the beauty, style + inspiration with your friends.  We want everyone to look fierce + fabulous for the holidays!

With Love + Light,

Tiff

LAYER IT UP! Summer to Fall Wardrobe Tips

Hi Pretty Peacock!

Is it still summer-like temps where you live?  It has been ridiculously HOT HOT HOT here in LA so I’m sure you sisters down in my home state of Texas are still rockin’ the flip flops and sundresses too.  Hopefully, in the next few weeks we will all get a break from this heat and be able to wear a pair of slouchy boots at least.  My leather jacket has been sweetly calling my name for the past few weeks, “Yoo Hoo Tiffany….Hey, Tiff….I miss you. I’m lonely. Come out and play!”  I admit- I do have separation anxiety from it, but it will have to keep hanging there all alone for now.  Luckily, there are a few simple tips for transitioning our wardrobes as the temps do slowly begin to drop.  LAYERING is the first option to think about and I  show you a few simple tweaks in this week’s webisode:

{Slouchy Boot + Heavier Belts}

{Darker Nail Color + A Great Scarf}

Ready to switch gears……

Every once in a while, a book affects you so profoundly that it must be shared! I love it when that happens, don’t you? (Thanks LG!)   “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” is an inspiring, fun and thought-provoking MUST READ!  There are a ton of A-ha’s and words of wisdom that will feed your mind + spirit and get you on the path to living a more RADIANT LIFE.  I know you will love it as much as I do.  Here are a few great excerpts:

  • “But it is a perfect world, and you have a perfect life. You do have the power to control your day. You do have the power to think good thoughts. You do have the power to live your dreams!”
  • “Do not just read anything. You must be very selective about what you put into the lush garden of your mind. It must be immensely nourishing. Make it something that will improve both you and the quality of your life.”
  • “When you erase fear from your mind, you start to look younger and your health becomes more vibrant.”

Do you have a topic you would like to see a video on? Comment and share….You have my ear sista!

How are you doing so far with this week’s affirmations?

Tiff’s Top 12 Fall Must Have’s plus Clearing the Clutter….AGAIN!

Hey My Fellow Fashionistas!

ARE YOU READY TO GET YOUR GLAM ON + AMP UP THE FABULOUS THIS FALL?

Good- let’s cut the small talk and get down to business. You will see several hot trends in the magazines this season and there are a few looks that just do not translate into real life (ummm, yea– those little collared shirts look best on a 3 year old)!   So, I have narrowed it down to the TOP 12 STYLES that we can all rock for Fall….

WHAT WILL YOU DEFINITELY ROCK THIS FALL?

The changing of seasons is a perfect time to reevaluate certain aspects of our lives and make the necessary changes to be better than ever, keep balanced and set new goals.  If you simply start with clearing the clutter in your closets and drawers you will find that it will help motivate you to de-clutter other areas of your life. (Like setting a firm boundary with that Drama-Queen girlfriend who drains the life out of you)

  • There is only 4 more months in 2012, what goals did you set for this year that you have let slide?
  • Is there a new workout class, book club or workshop you want to attend? Book it!
  • Assess what areas of your life are taking up too much time + energy and distracting you from your priorities.

What areas could use a good deep cleaning in your life?

One fashion goal I am setting this season is to make more of an effort to get ‘dressed up’ for Fall.  I become pretty lazy during the summer and tend to live in  boring basics and I have lost my “fashion mojo”….I want to get it back! (Life is short so go ahead and wear the red shoes, lipstick or blazer. Be Bold)

What fashion goal will you set this season?

PLEASE COMMENT!

Look Cool + Stylish on a Budget (plus some motivation)

Who is loving Twenty Twelve so far?

I’m sure everyone is getting back on the program and with all the gifts, extra dinners and groceries that are bought during the holidays- we’re all cutting back not only on the eating, but on the spending too!  So, right now is the perfect time to chat about one of my favorite topics…BUDGET SHOPPING!  Actually, now is a great time to pick up any wardrobe basics you need.  Most stores are having huge sales through January.

After I got married and finances were tight, I learned very quickly how to keep up my passion-for-fashion and look stylish on a fraction of my previous shopping budget!  Now,we have more options than ever for finding great deals on great clothing, accessories and shoes!  I’m planning on taping more webisodes on how to put together fabulous outfits from places like Nordstrom Rack, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx and H&M.  Those are the first 4 spots I hit!

WATCH WEBISODE:

Outfit under $150:

PLUS SOME MOTIVATION:

I got several naps over the weekend and woke up on Monday with an extra helping of MOTIVATION!  So, I decided to share some with you.  This topic was actually a post I had made on the SOS facebook page: BE CONSCIOUS OF NEGATIVE SELF-TALK.
