LOVE YOUR SELFIE: Fall Reinvention

tiff_newhair

REINVENT: verb 1. to invent again or anew,  2. to remake or make over, as in a different form 3. to bring back; revive.

______________________________________________

Typically, we discuss makeovers and reinvention on Jan 1st! Every magazine cover boasts headlines like “new year, new you”. But, I believe anytime is a good time to change it up, revive yourself and start anew. Are you afraid of change? Are you stuck in a rut? Are you sick of feeling blah? Are you enemies with the mirror? Do you cringe when you take a selfie? Are you sick and tired of hearing yourself complain about the same old, same old?

Sista, it’s time to s@*! or get off the pot…..as grandma would say!

Yes, that’s a Southern saying that’s a bit in your face, but you know me– I keep it real and am your instigator of change. Women keep themselves so busy taking care of everyone else that they neglect their basic needs, put their health and appearance on the back burner and ultimately end up miserable with themselves.

THAT STOPS NOW!

After the amazing yet challenging year I had, I was feeling blah and needed to shake it all up. What’s an easy solution? Chopping off my hair. I thought of it on a Monday, made the hair appointment and cut it on Wednesday. I didn’t hem and haw about it and just went for it.  Ba-bye 6 inches. Don’t miss ya! Big thanks to Holly Dear of Dear Clark for being part of my reinvention.

I believe our hair holds energy and it’s the perfect way to revive – not only your look- but your spirit. Letting go of that old energy is freedom! You know I love long hair and I’ve let it define me at certain points in my life and career. Over the past 15 years, I’ve whacked my hair off twice and felt the same sense of freedom. I hear many women say they are so afraid to cut their long hair. If that’s you, what are you holding on to? It could be deeper than just the length of your hair. The beautiful thing about hair is that it always grows back. What can you do TODAY to let go of the old and embrace more freedom in your life?

Perhaps, it’s not your look or hair. It could be something to revive your health and energy! Making simple steps like starting the day with green smoothie and laying off the diet cokes. Honoring yourself with healthy food choices is truly life changing!

Maybe it’s being more diligent with time management and restricting your time on social media. We increase our confidence when we are efficient and get things done! I’m guilty of getting on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and losing an hour of my life. For my brand and business, social media is an important tool, but it must be managed. Women thrive on being productive multi-taskers so if you’ve are in a time and scheduling rut– make some changes today. I’m an avid list maker and have note pads and spiral notebooks everywhere to help me stay on track. When I’m feeling inefficient, my self-esteem suffers. I’ve been diagnosed with ADD and have tried medication, but it was not for me. I’ve learned to keep my schedule doable and not allow myself to get overwhelmed with a full plate. Lists and time management are key to my sanity! Are you wasting time?

Scroll back up to the top of the page and read the definition of REINVENT again. Take some alone time to assess the areas you could remake, revive, reinvent. Fall is upon us and with every season change it brings both a sense of new beginnings and the end of the old.

DO THAT THING THAT SCARES YOU!

Take the baby step. It might be small, but it’s still a step forward.

It’s about time you take a selfie and really love what you see.

Nudging You With Love,

Xo Tiff

GREAT HAIR GIVEAWAY

FullSizeRender-94

A woman’s hair is her ‘crowning glory’ and for a Leo like me…… it’s well, everything! It’s our mane! As you know, I love hair. Big hair. Rocker hair. Keith Urban-esque hair. Highlighted hair. Curled hair. Bombshell sexy hair. 70’s Cher straight hair. So, it’s important to keep my hair as healthy as possible with all that styling happening on a daily basis. Thanks to my girlfriend and PR beauty Ali Volk, I was introduced to the amazing gilrbosses of Dear Clark, Holly Dear and Kaycee Clark.  Their superstar colorist Bria Haworth has been doing my balayage highlights and Holly does my cut. Stepping into the salon is such like getting a great big hug. The energy is fun, supportive, loving and creative. My kind of spot for getting beautified!  I always walk out with bouncin’ and behavin’ hair. For at home care, I use their hair care and body care products. They have truly revamped my hair and I get compliments on my mane daily. Thanks girls! Their products are now available at Target.com
