MOM’S ROCK!

Mothers_day

Honoring all of you beautiful Mother’s today!

As you look at your children smile and laugh today, revel in your amazing accomplishment.  Enjoy the day because YOU ROCK!  I am where I am today because of my Mama’s consistent prayers, love, example, belief and support.  She always told my sister and I we could do and be whatever we dreamed of!   I’m so grateful for her.  They say your mom is your very first friend then my baby sister came along 4 1/2 years later.  No matter what girlfriends come in and out of your life– family is the foundation of our lives.

She is WOMAN.
She is Mother. Daughter. Wife. Sister.
She is a Person.
She is Strong, Smart, Crafty.
She is Passionate, Courageous, Generous.
Cooking barefoot is only one of several superpowers.
She is Action, Emotion, Devotion.
She has Hope, Beauty, Power.
She has a Brain and she knows how to use it.
She Gives You LIFE.
She gives you RESPECT, LOVE, GRATITUDE.
She believes in you.
She will nurture you, fight for you.
She deserves nothing less from you.

I also wanted to share this wonderful Wholehearted Living Parenting Manifesto” from Brene Brown.   Download for FREE on her site!  It’s beautiful– not only for families, but for any groups or mentoring situations.  Be blessed!

HAPPY WEEKEND + A SIMPLE REMINDER

Tiff-goldenelm-happyweekend{In Melbourne, AU under one of my fave trees- The Golden Elm 2006}

I’m really not sure where the week went, but I am happy it’s Friday.  How ’bout you?   I wanted to wish you all a relaxing weekend and remind you once again to do something for YOU.  If you have been part of this SOS Sisterhood for a while, you know that I harp on the importance of taking “ME TIME”.   Moms– I know this is a challenge for you that’s why I feel the need to constantly remind all of you.  I’m not a mom, but I’m a surrogate mama with plenty of people who depend on me and I know that when I get drained and depleted… I am no good to anyone.  I get easily flustered, frustrated, sassy, smart mouthed, weepy, whiny and flat out bitchy!  Not pretty!  Guys even need “me time”…. I was surprised recently by a special male follower who told me that this concept has transformed his life as well.  When we unplug, stop reading texts/emails/facebook comments, take a walk in nature, shut up the chatter in our heads and do something solely for ourselves and our own happiness, then we are able to be our best for everyone around us.  I plan to stay in my robe as long as I please tomorrow and read, then take a long walk alone and admire the flowers + trees.  I am reading 3 self-help/motivational books at the moment, but I’ll probably flip through a new fashion mag as well.  It may not sound very exciting or glamorous to you and that’s the beauty of “ME TIME”… who cares what other people think as long as it brings you peace, contentment and joy!

What will your “ME TIME” look like this weekend?

Even if it’s just fitting in a 30 minute bubble bath, please do it!  You deserve it and your loved ones will appreciate you for loving yourself enough to fill up your own love tank in order to show them more love.

Love, Tiff
