HAPPY HUMPDAY! How is your week going so far? I have listened to as many interviews onThe Daily Love Extravaganzaas I could over the past few days and WHOA BABY- there has been so much beautiful insight and wisdom shared by a variety of life coaches and thought leaders. I’m looking forward to catching Mastin Kipp, the creator of TDL, interview my girlfriend Ali Brown on today’s lineup. I am so grateful for these free resources and tools to help me acknowledge any blocks that could be holding me back. Growing is not always easy– in fact, it’s pretty painful at times– BUT, I believe staying the same is ultimately MORE devastating and heart wrenching.
QUESTION? Do you put your personal growth as a priority?
The fact that you are here on this blog and have joined me on this journey says that you are interested in becoming the best that you can be (body/mind/spirit), but how much time, focus and energy to you really devote to YOU? I admit, I still have so much growing to do, so much to learn, many more breakthroughs + shifts to experience. Transformation is not an overnight process! But, I am determined and will not give up. I hope you won’t either. Investing in yourself is the absolute BEST investment you will ever make. Like I said, growing can be painful so don’t get discouraged when you feel like you’re drudging through mud and it seems like everything is falling apart. The beauty of the challenges, trials and difficulties is the amazing strength we gain from it. These are the moments that will propel you into your greatness. [STOP] and picture yourself 10 years ago. Enough said. It’s all worth it, right?!?
Last Spring, I heard a sermon by Bishop T.D. Jakes that made such an impression on me. He spoke about an arrow and what it takes to propel it…the tension needed, being pulled back, etc. Then a few days ago, I saw this fantastic quote along the same lines and it was a great encouragement to me and wanted to share. You may have seen it on the SOS Facebook Community:
“Whenever God pulls back a bow, the arrow is going to go further than it’s ever gone before. I believe that’s the turning point.” — T.D. JAKES
I would love to hear your comments + thoughts!
Ok, now a style tip and ‘must have’ that I’ve got to mention! I’m googoo-gaga obsessed with the oversized cat-eye shades right now. I’m on the hunt and haven’t found the purrrfect shape for my face yet, but mama’s on a mission. They’re so Glam with a capital G!!! Audrey Hepburn first made them famous in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”! Have you rocked them this fall? I would love to see a pic!
Hope you fly high and soar through the rest of the week with many magical moments, lots of belly laughs and bag-free undereyes!
How was your week? I hope you were kickin’ butt and takin’ names! It’s been an exhilarating, yet exhausting week for me because of the long build up to my hubby’s music video launch and I’m looking forward to being able to stay in my jammies all day on Sat…..if I can! Don’t you just love a lazy day to “piddle” around the house? I put Pandora music on shuffle, hair in a ponytail, no makeup and do whatever the heck I feel like. I find if I don’t recharge after a busy week I become a total witch with a Capital B–who feels me? Because I was feeling depleted, I needed an extra snack of Spiritual nourishment last night and curled up with the laptop and watch a few epsiodes of Oprah’s Lifeclass with Bishop TD Jakes + Deepak Chopra. Whew! It was more like a yummy buffet than a snack. I highly recommend watching a few episodes this weekend if you are in need of some good Spiritual food.
WOW- I have been blown away at the responses from the “7 Tricks to Hiding the Muffin Top”.Everyone from personal friends, family and YouTuber’s are commenting on how much they needed these tips. Have you tried any of the tips yet? I wanted to remind you to play with your belts. It really is one of the quickest ways to camouflage things in the middle! Especially wider belts….
Did you know drinking a big glass of water first thing in the morning is one of the most important beauty tips you will ever hear?! It’s true. Water is vital for proper organ function and remember, our skin is the largest organ so it’s just as important what we ingest as what we apply to our skin. As we sleep our stomach fills up with acid and the water dilutes it and gets your day started healthy instead of on the toxic side. Toxicity in your organs will show up on your beautiful face as acne, bags under your eyes and sagging skin. Make it a habit to take a big glass of water to bed with you so you can down it right when you wake up! For extra internal scrubbing, add some lemon juice to your water!
Do you have a special spot you can go to think, decompress and daydream? It could be your bathtub, your garden, back porch, your mom’s kitchen table or even the gym. By now, you all know I love hiking and being outdoors. I love being among the trees and seeing the sky always gives me instant peace. If you don’t have a special spot, I encourage you to find one this weekend. Maybe there’s a beautiful park nearby that you’ve never been to. It will become your private oasis to run to whenever you need to get a hold of your thoughts, reconnect with your spirit and just EXHALE.
